A Celebration of Student Achievements
Some moments in a studio feel extra special. Not because of the awards themselves, but because of the journey behind them. The quiet focus, the erased lines, the brave ideas and the courage it takes for a young artist to put their work out into the world.
This month, Falak Art Studio is filled with that feeling of pride. We’re celebrating students whose creativity traveled beyond our walls and found recognition on national and community platforms. Each achievement is a reminder that when children are given space, guidance and trust, their art has the power to speak loudly and honestly.

Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
Mixed Media Category-
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, one of the nation’s most respected programs for young creatives, honors originality, technique and personal voice. This year, our students brought all three.

Shriya Tandon received the Gold Key for her mixed media artwork. A striking piece layered with emotion, texture and confidence. Her work reflects not only technical strength, but also the courage to explore complex ideas through art. The depth and storytelling in her composition speak to an artist who is learning to trust her vision.

Mahathi Kumar earned the Silver Key for her artwork Beauty in Imperfection. Inspired by a classical sculpture, Mahathi’s piece gently reminds us that flaws can hold beauty. The embroidered flowers emerging through cracks transform the surface into a story of healing and resilience. An idea brought to life with sensitivity and thoughtfulness well beyond her years.

Honoring Art with Purpose
33rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Art Contest-

We are also proud to celebrate Ruhita Anand (Age 8), whose artwork was recognized at the 33rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Art Contest. Inspired by the theme Better Together: Making the Dream a Reality, Ruhita’s painting beautifully captures unity and hope.

The image of people holding hands while crossing a bridge becomes a quiet yet powerful symbol of collaboration and shared purpose. Through careful use of oil pastels and colored pencils, Ruhita translated Dr. King’s ideals into a visual story that feels both gentle and strong.

Creativity Finds a Page
Perfect Pets – Young Artists USA-

Another joyful milestone comes from Nikitha Ramakrishnan (Age 8), whose artwork was selected for publication in the Perfect Pets book by Young Artists USA. Her playful illustration celebrates imagination, love for animals and storytelling through art.

Being published at such a young age is a meaningful moment and Nikitha’s achievement reflects the confidence that grows when children are encouraged to create freely and share their work with pride.

More Than Awards
These recognitions are not just medals or certificates. They are moments of belief. Moments where young artists realize that their ideas matter.
We are deeply proud of Shriya, Mahathi, Ruhita and Nikitha, and of every student who shows up to create with curiosity and heart. At Falak Art Studio, we celebrate the process just as much as the outcome. The learning, the patience and the quiet confidence that grows with every artwork.
